Higher Education Within Reach
We’re happy to say that many of our staff members live in our communities or surrounding areas and are excited to welcome you to the area. We would like to share some of our favorite places to visit near Cordera.
Malls & Shopping
The Shops at Briargate are the first to come to mind. The Shops at Briargate are home to Colorado Springs’ only Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Brighton Store, White House Black Market, Chicos, Ulta, and the list goes on and one. As well, you’ll find a number of upscale dining options with PF Changs, Biaggis, California Pizza Kitchen, and more. We love The Shops at Briargate for not only their retail and dining therapy but because of the great family activities that are often hosted on the grounds. Check out their calendar of events and be sure to look for your neighbors!
For grocery shopping needs, we frequent King Soopers at Union and Briargate Pkwy. The store has a great produce and flower department, fantastic bakery, and fresh meat and fish department.
Looking for some south of the border dining, we love Salsa Brava off Briargate Pkwy. Their take on fresh Mexican food is different from anything you’ll find in the area. And best of all – they’re locally owned! If you’re looking for a great steak and even better oysters, it has to be Mackenzies Chop House. Make sure to check out their patio for warm summer evenings!
Fitness & Relaxation
When it comes to working out, you have plenty of options depending on your lifestyle. For family-friendly exercise options and summer camps, we like the Briargate YMCA. For serious workouts with options for classes and swimming, try Lifetime Fitness. But for convenience, nothing is better than our Cordera community center with outdoor pool, morning classes, childcare, and more.
For spa time, visit Mateos off I-25 and Woodmen Rd. It’s often voted one of the best day spas in the area!
For live music, it’s just around the corner at Back East. They feature local bands on Friday and Saturday nights. Check out their burgers – they are the best around!
